Ben Berlien

Ben Berlien maintains an active freelance career as a musician while working for a commercial print shop in Seattle.
Locally, he has performed with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, Symphony Tacoma, and in studio recordings. Ben studied tuba performance at Southern Methodist University (Dallas, TX), the Manhattan School of Music, and the Yale University School of Music.
In New York, he performed with Camerata New York and the critically-acclaimed new music ensemble Alarm Will Sound. At Yale, Ben coordinated chamber music performances for the Common Room Concert series as a McDougal Fellow in the Yale Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. His former teachers include Toby Hanks (New York Brass Quintet, retired) and Matt Good (Dallas Symphony).
Ben currently performs with Northwest Symphony Orchestra, and has been a member of Puget Brass since 2008.
