Steve played French horn through high school and college in Columbus, Ohio, appearing in many band and orchestra concerts each year and winning several solo and ensemble contests. He graduated with a degree in computer engineering and eventually found his way to Microsoft as an information security consultant, where he traveled extensively and moved twice across the country, which left no time to play his horn. In 2009 Steve changed careers to become senior technical program manager at Amazon Web Services and enjoys the extra time that comes with being home more often. He joined Puget Brass and took up the baritone. Steve continues to play both instruments. He lives in Ballard with his wife, two children, and assorted mammals. |
