Roger McRea


Roger started trombone in 4th grade. Member of the "all boys" band of Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen, WA, the "swing band", the choir and orchestra. During high school, he also played in a commercial "dance band" and two years of Grays Harbor Symphony. He played under Bill Cole at University of Washington for 4 undergrad years and participated in the orchestra and choir programs. Due to the Cuban Crises Army Guard call up, Roger ended up in the Fort Irwin Post Military Band for a year.

He graduated from UW with a degree in Business and a Degree in Economics, with the plan to teach Economics in the Pubic Schools. Unusual circumstances caused his first Seattle teaching job to be a Choral directing postion at Eckstein Jr. High. From there,he became the Choral Director at Ingraham and West Seattle High Schools, and then back to the UW for a Masters in Curriculum Development. From Grad School, he moved directly to Foothill Community College in Los Altos, CA, becoming the founder of their Commercial Music Program.

Developed and founded Temporal Acuity Products, (TAP) that designed, built and marketed music education software to the nations schools and private teachers. Married to Diane Aagaard, has two children and 5 grandchildren. Lives in Bellevue. Currently sings in the Plymouth Congregational Church Choir.
